The reverse is made from a water-repellent coated fabric, offering protection and making everyday use easier.

Good to know: cotton/linen is a living material that may relax slightly with use — and that is part of its charm.
Our covers are therefore deliberately fitted after washing to ensure a neat, long-lasting finish.

A little fitting tip: once the cover is back on, turn the mat upside down and press down a few times to distribute the fabric evenly.
After two or three little rolls from your child (tried and tested!), everything naturally falls into place.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Foam pieces are protected by a water-repellent cover. For small stains, simply rub with water and soap. For bigger accidents, the foam pieces can be machine washed individually — roll them up carefully, wash at 30°C, and dry flat.

Printed cover: 30°C, normal cycle and spin, air dry, no ironing on the water-repellent coated canvas reverse.

🧵 Good to know for cotton/linen rugs and covers:
Cotton/linen is a fabric that relaxes slightly with use — and that's part of its charm!
That's why our covers are intentionally fitted after washing, to ensure a perfect look over time.

💡 A handy installation tip:
Once the cover is back on, flip the rug over and press down in a few places to distribute the fabric evenly.
After a couple of baby rolls (tried and tested), everything falls perfectly into place!

USAGE TIPS

STORAGE
The life mat folds in 2, making it easy to slip behind or under the sofa. We recommend against storing it in its tote bag for extended periods — folded in 2 is the best way to keep it in great shape!

USE:
If used for an extended period on a very wet surface, even though the underside of the cover is made from water-repellent coated canvas, we recommend removing the cover and allowing the foam pieces to air dry thoroughly before putting everything back together.

What is a life mat?

Much more than a simple play mat, our life mat is designed to grow with your child and your family. Thanks to its modularity and her activity covers, it adapts to every stage of life: sensory play, motor development, games, quiet time, extra bed for sleepovers… In short, useful from 0 to 99 years old ! Because at the end of the day, comfort has no age limit.

Designed with the help of early childhood professionals (psychomotor therapist, occupational therapist…), it is perfectly suited to the needs of newborns:

Two main criteria to consider: the size and the fabric.

Which size should you choose?

Our life mat comes in two sizes:

Standard size: 120 × 120 cm – made up of 2 foam pieces and 1 zip cover
King size: 180 × 120 cm – the standard mat + a 60 × 120 cm extension which attaches with a press-stud system

💡 No stress: you can absolutely start with the standard size and add the extension later. All our standard covers are already fitted with press studs to accommodate an extension whenever you like.

Which fabric should you choose?

Two types of covering are available for our life mat covers:

✅ Our fabric zip covers (machine washable)

Available in 3 versions, depending on the feel you prefer:

Organic cotton: "shirt fabric" feel

Organic sweatshirt fabric: "soft sweatshirt" feel

Cotton-linen: "slightly textured" feel

👉 The back of these covers is made from water-repellent coated canvas, durable and suited to outdoor use.

Care: removable covers with zip fasteners, machine washable at 30°C, air dry (Cotton / cotton-linen: dries in around half a day; Sweatshirt fabric: allow a full day)

Covering leather effect (front and back)

Super easy to clean with a sponge (machine washing not recommended)

Can you tell us more about the flap cover system?

At Mèzamé, we designed the life mat so it grows with you for a long time, and above all adapts to your child's development.

That's where the idea for flap covers: covers that are placed in a matter of seconds, like a exercise book cover, directly on top of the mat.

The idea? No need to take everything apart — just add a layer of exploration, play, protection or softness depending on the moment:

🧸 Activity covers: sensory for babies, a racing circuit, a wonderland to discover animals, a colouring sheet for budding artists, or in the city for the big imaginers.

💧 Waterproof covers: perfect for messy activities, a snack or a trip outdoors.

☁️ Fluffy covers: for those winter days when all you want to do is cosy up.

One mat, endless ways to play, explore, protect… and wonder.

📌 The flap cover is designed for the standard mat size (120x120), but the extension can be added by fastening the central press stud to expand the play area.

⚠️ Exception: the fluffy cover comes in standard and king-size versions.

What is the difference between your zip cover fabrics?

To help you choose, here is a quick overview of the textures of our zip covers,

➡️ For the front:

Cotton: "shirt fabric" feel, light and soft

Sweat: "soft sweatshirt" feel, supple and cosy

Cotton / Linen: "lightly textured blend" feel, natural and breathable

Waterproof: "leather-effect" feel, supple and waterproof

➡️ And what about the reverse?

Cotton, sweat and cotton/linen: the reverse is in water-repellent coated canvas in anthracite grey

Waterproof: the reverse is in anthracite grey waterproof material, identical to the front.

Is the life mat easy to clean and can it be machine washed?

Oh, absolutely! The life mat was designed by a mum (yes, that's us 😅), so of course, easy care was at the heart of the whole thing.

Here's how it works:

🧺 Cotton / sweat / cotton-linen covers:
All our fabric covers are machine washable at 30°C. Air drying is recommended to keep them lovely and soft.

🧵 Good to know for cotton/linen mats and covers: Cotton/linen is a fabric that relaxes slightly with use — and that's actually part of its charm! That's why our covers are intentionally cut snug after washing, to ensure a perfect finish over time.

💡 Quick installation tip: Once the cover is back on, flip the mat over and press down in a few places to spread the filling evenly. And after a couple of toddler rolls (tried and tested), everything falls perfectly into place! A little accident? A quick wipe is all it takes. No fuss!

Each foam piece is protected by a non-removable water-repellent mattress cover.
For small spills: a little soapy water, a cloth, and you're done.
For a full-on cat(c)astrophe: the foam pieces are machine washable at 30°C (one at a time, dry flat and air dry).

In short, a mat that lives life with you… and cleans up without the drama.
