What is sensorimotor development ?
This is the period 0-24 months during which the child perceives sensory signals (visual, tactile, sound, etc.) which arouse his interest and stimulate his desire to move , while fueling his cognitive development (his ability to think).
This development, if it is of good quality, helps them access their senses, feel them, and make the link between cause and effect. All of this contributes to the establishment of learning processes in line with their ages, but also to self-confidence and mental flexibility.
Why should you encourage your baby to lie down?
In a lying position, he discovers his body little by little and then gradually uses his muscles to turn, stretch, and curl up.
This discovery allows him to gain torsion, movement, without tension without constraint . By rolling up, turning, hoisting himself, moving backwards, straightening up.
With all these stages of motor patterns, it gains flexibility, and creates action strategies and therefore intelligence, because all these motor acts inform and educate the brain.
Why is our rug an ideal play area?
Because first of all, it's big, flat, without edges. And secondly, because unlike many traditional playmats on the market, its base is not made of wadding (which we use for our blankets, the cozy ones) but of foam specially chosen thanks to the advice of early childhood professionals in order to promote baby's motor skills in complete safety.

How to encourage motor skills?
From the first few weeks, don't hesitate to watch your baby gently wake up on his mat, simply by placing two rattles at a distance from each of his arms.
Then during the second month , while helping him turn over, place him in the stomach position so that he strengthens his neck muscles... just a few minutes to start. -
And why is playing at children's height important?
Sharing time with our children is important!
This height helps the child to understand that he is an individual in his own right , because you can then look at him from eye to eye, a sign that you give him importance.
This eye-to-eye gaze is one of the beginnings of the quality of the relationship with the other.
